The oldest and most widespread okinawan system is Shuri – te, which evovled to Shorin – Ryu (meaning “school of the young forest” or “school of the small pine forest”).

In Okinawa it has been labeled as the Bushi (warrior) system. It was the basis for the creation of the most known modern japanese systems (Shotokan, Shito Ryu, Wado Ryu etc).

The distinguishing feature of the combat motion in Shorin Ryu is the sharp and fast techniques, based upon the strategy of simultaneous evading and attacking sensitive points of the opponent's anatomy with multiple strik
